Sara Swanson is currently a Clinical Rater at Segal Trials. In this role she administers clinical scales and performs diagnostic evaluations on subjects with various diagnoses such as Major Depression Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, PTSD, Substance Use Disorders, ADHD, Anxiety Disorders, and several other indications. Ms. Swanson works closely with Principle Investigators, Coordinators, and research staff to assist the research process.

Sara Swanson started at Segal Trials as a Screening Specialist. This position entailed obtaining detailed medical and psychiatric histories from potential volunteers who were interested in participating in a clinical trial in order to determine eligibility. While in this job role Sara was able to further her clinical knowledge pertaining to mental health disorders, the conduction of clinical trials and why they are important, as well as utilizing this position to learn from a diverse population of volunteers. Prior to her position here at Segal Trials she obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a concentration in Neuroscience at Slippery Rock University and later obtained her Master’s degree in School Psychology at Barry University. Ms. Swanson also has experience working with juvenile offenders at a detention center where she completed a case study on the treatment effects of various intervention techniques and program elements used for behavior change in this youth population as part of her educational training.
